We are heading to Denmark in 2 weeks. I'm reading here and there that dinner reservations are a good idea. Hope we're not too late.
As we are staying in the Nyhavn neighborhood (in the 60s), we'd like to go somewhere nearby (walkable) on our first night. We're not looking for Michelin spots, but don't want mediocre tourist fare either.
Any suggestions as to good, authentic local fare and a nice location? Prefer upscale to overly casual. I thank you in advance.
What days are you going to be there?
Here is an interesting idea if you're there between Aug 15th and 24th. There's an annual cooking/restaurant festival called Copenhagen Cooking.
Some options are just in Danish but look for "good for English speakers" on the description for individual events. In addition to meals there are demos and cooking classes.
You will need to buy tickets in advance, very simple, kind of like Danish ticketmaster.
Thank you! I wasn't interested at first, but I gave the website a good look and we're going to check it out! It looks wonderful!
Oh, excellent! We've signed up for one of the breakfast tour walks and will also check out the farmer's markets. We won't be in town for the full week of the fest so we're squeezing things in around everything else.
We're still considering other things, too. We're "negotiating" on which dinner to choose right now, haha. Maybe we'll cross paths!
(I'm a bit bummed the ice cream tastings sold out, but I think we'll try the regular ones anyhow. )
Here’s a nearby restaurant I went to last month and enjoyed: https://maps.app.goo.gl/RqYHrnmMdiyroTz1A?g_st=ipc
