I'm planning a multi-country trip in 2023 that includes 3 days in Copenhagen. If I'd like to spend one of those days (or a long afternoon) taking a day trip somewhere, does anyone have any recommendations? I have some ideas, but am interested to hear others' experiences. Thanks.
I would recommend taking the train out to Roskilde and walking through the town to the Viking Longship Museum, an interesting few hours. The cathedral is also worth taking in on the way back. It took us a full day to to the two things (plus lunch and a beer in the afternoon sun on the way back to the station!).

Take a train to Helsingør (Elsinore in English) and visit Kronborg (of Hamlet fame) and the Maritime Museum, dedicated to the commercial marine rather than the military marine.
In Copenhagen don't forget to see the city from the water on one of the tour boats. Or from a GoBoat (https://goboat.dk/en/)
Tak! Choices, choices. I know I only want to spend one day day tripping somewhere. I need to weigh going north or going west against each other...
