I will be in Copenhagen and want to take a day trip to Stevns Klint without a car.
Can I do this in a day and suggestions about how to get there (bus or train) would be welcome.

Yes, you can do it as a day trip.
You get there by train and then a bus. Use Rejseplanen app / journeyplanner.dk to find the details for your travel day. It’s the official resource for planning trips with public transport.
