Hello,
We realized we have 5 nights/4 full (non travel days) after hiking in the Dolomites in end of June and have decided to fly to Denmark. This is our first trip to Scandinavia. We are debating if we should only stay in Copenhagen for the night we fly in (arrival 19:00) and the night before we fly out (12:00), and spend our 4 full days in between in Aarhus and Aero, knowing it is easier to see Copenhagen on a future trip to Scandinavia. Or, if we should just plan on spending our full visit in and around Copenhagen?
We have done a lot of central Europe cities, which we loved, however, our last few trips have been more small town and countryside and we are feeling that is a little more of our vibe, especially since we will be doing this after spending a week in the alps. We also prefer to a more relaxed itinerary to squeezing in a lot in a short amount of time.
Thanks for any advice to help us make a decision!
I would say just stay in Copenhagen and do a day trip or two. There is a lot to see and do there. Aarhus and Aero are 3+ hours apart by car, so they don't make a good combo. OTOH, I love Aarhus and highly recommend it.
Thank you so much for your thoughts on this! I'd love to go to Aarhus, but maybe best to just stay in Copenhagen this time.
