Copenhagen : Strand vs Admiral

Any opinions? Coming in by ferry, leaving by plane.

I'm not sure how helpful my opinion will be but since no one else has responded:
both locations look fine (to me). The Strand is closer to Tivoli and the train station while the Admiral is on the water and closer to Amalienborg Palace. However, they are only about 600m from each other.

I priced them both for a 4 day weekend in June and the Admiral appears to be 35% more expensive than the Strand.

We did meet a couple that was staying in the Admiral and they were quite happy with it.

Copenhagen's transportation system is very good. I did look at taking public transport from the ferry terminal to both hotels. Neither looks straightforward (perhaps I am missing something). The airport is a metro ride from either one.

Stayed at the Admiral a couple summers ago and loved it. Very short walk away from the Nyhavn district and you are right on the waterfront. Also has an amazing breakfast spread!

I took the DFDS Oslo-Copenhagen ferry last year. Bought tickets for a DFDS-affiliated bus while on board. The busses were waiting 100m from the gangway when we disembarked at the ferry terminal. The bus had only one stop: Nørreport Station. Caught a train from there to the central station (which is just two stops away). It was a short walking distance from there to my hotel. Pretty convenient, all-in-all.

Thanks for the replies. We decided on the Admiral. So from the Oslo ferry to Admiral, what is best source of transportation?

You will arrive at Dampfærgevej 30, 2100 København and the hotel is on Toldbodgade 24 – 28 DK-1253 København.

Rejseplanen tells you to take bus 26 to Dronningens Tværgade and walk the rest of the way (600 meters).

If you have too much luggage for that to work, I am afraid you will have to take a taxi. A fare calculator says it will be appx. 12.30 EUR. The good thing is that you can pay with credit card in Danish taxis. So you don't need to get cash before you have checked into your hotel.

..with regards to bus 26, can this ticket be purchased on the DFDS ferry?

We stayed near Tivoli and did not like that area. Would prefer to stay where Admiral is located.
