Copenhagen Rewards Train Travelers Through Expanded CopenPay Initiative

Copenhagen is redefining sustainable tourism through the return of CopenPay — an innovative program where tourists can "pay" for experiences by making eco-conscious choices.

This year, CopenPay is three times bigger with over 90 participating venues and runs for twice as long. What’s most exciting is that visitors who arrive by train receive exclusive perks like free bike rentals, guided tours, yoga sessions, and discounted access to top attractions. Even longer stays are rewarded — all in an effort to reduce the climate impact of tourism.

The initiative encourages travelers to stay longer, travel less, and engage with the city in a greener way. It’s a meaningful shift from volume-driven tourism toward value- and impact-driven experiences.
