Copenhagen Museums -- Good News / Bad News

I'm researching the Nordic and Baltic countries for a hoped-for 2021 trip. I turned up information about the status of a couple Copenhagen museums that may be helpful to others doing preliminary planning. Both these places have been mentioned on this forum, though not often.

The Museum of Danish Resistance (Frihedsmuseet), Esplanaden 13, has been rebuilt on the original site following a fire. I don't know whether the new facility managed to open before COVID-19 shut everything down, but the website indicates it will reopen next month, on July 3. I see there's a combination ticket also covering the Danish War Museum (which I don't know anything about).

The Designmuseum Danmark, Bredgade 68, is currently closed for renovations. It is taking advantage of the forced COVID-19 closure to have the work done sooner rather than later. The museum will not reopen until the end of 2021 (or "late 2021", depending on which website language you go by).

For your trip research.
When in Copenhagen a few years ago, my wife and I really enjoyed The David Collection Museum. It was very highly recommended by a local guide we hired for a walking tour of the city. It showcases a private collection and had free admission. Very memorable experience. Here is the museum webpage--

Thank you! I hadn't encountered that museum yet, and I love art. It's on the list for sure.

I second Kfrog’s recommendation of The David Collection. It’s a small, often overlooked, museum featuring Islamic art. Islamic art is not something I would have thought I would find interesting but I was surprised! As a part of their self guided system, they give you an iPad that acts as your personal guide. It is quiet and serene as well as air conditioned (something we appreciated on a very warm August afternoon). Definitely a hidden gem in Copenhagen.

And when discussing museums in Copenhagen, I have to mention Louisiana museum of modern art about 30 km north of Copenhagen.

First thing on my list!

Great! Too many people miss it since it is a bit outside the city.
