Copenhagen lodging advice

Hi all. We have reserved a vacation rental for 3 nights in June located at
Puggaardsgade 14 st. tv., Copenhagen, 1573, Denmark
It appears on a map to be relatively close to most things in Copenhagen, but I am wondering what people who are familiar with Copenhagen think. The apartment is described as a "10min walk from the train stop (not metro)". I'm just concerned because we'll have our elderly mom with us who really cannot walk far (e.g., she needs to stop after just 5 minutes at her pace, she gets short of breath).
If I am looking for a place requiring little walking to get there, would you suggest a closer-in location, or one closer to the metro or train stop? I've heard taxis are super expensive and ride-share is not really available. We chose this place because there are just a couple steps to get into the building for our mom, and it has a kitchen (we plan to buy groceries) and a nice courtyard.

I am geographically challenged and appreciate any insights you can offer.

It’s in a residential neighborhood near Tivoli Gardens, the National Museum and Christiansborg Palace. Also, just one-half mile from København Centraal Station for both trains and the metro lines that stop there. From the apartment location, you might find that buses—rather than the metro—are a better way to get around the city. (That said, Rosenborg Castle is the only major attraction for a 3-day visit that you won’t be near). Be sure to take the canal tour from the Stromma Canal dock just north of Christiansborg Palace. It will give your legs a rest, and you’ll see a lot of the city by boat from its waterways this way. The boat tour is included with the Copenhagen “Discover” Card along with many other attractions plus public transportation. You can check out all it covers on the official website: www.CopenhagenCard.com
The Copenhagen card is one City Card in Europe that I think is well worth the price.

Have fun in Copenhagen!

Hello,

Sounds like a good place to stay. As said above, it’s a mostly residential area in a central location. It's not the absolute most central location, but it's pretty close.

I don’t think getting around will be an issue. You’re staying right next to Otto Mønsteds Plads, where bus line 5C stops. It runs every 4-10 minutes all day and at least every 20 minutes all night, and can take you to the central station (København H), Rådhuspladsen and Nørreport - all central locations and places where you can transfer to either metro or S-trains. For a change of pace, you can also go to Det Kongelige Bibliotek and catch the ‘harbour bus’ (public transport boats) to e.g. Nyhavn, though their frequencies are lower at every 30-45 minutes and daytime only. Bookmark journeyplanner.dk or even better download their app Rejseplanen, it will come in handy when navigating public transport in Copenhagen.

The rideshare business model is illegal in Copenhagen, and taxis are not cheap, but it won’t bankrupt you if you need to catch a taxi once or twice.

For alternatives: If close proximity to the metro is a non-negotiable for you, as well as a very central location, I suggest you look near København H, Rådhuspladsen, Gammel Strand, Kongens Nytorv, Marmorkirken, Nørreport. Their nearby stations are also pretty central, but I had to draw the line somewhere, and these are the stations closest to the highest density of attractions and museums.
