We are staying in Copenhagen for four nights before a self-guided cycle trip, then two nights afterward. We are trying to decide between the SktAnnae or the Admiral. The former is in Rick’s book, but not the latter. Does anyone have recommendations? Thank you.
The Admiral hotel may still be undergoing extensive renovations. When we were in Copenhagen recently the Amiral lobby was half closed off and the windows in the dining room were covered over.
The Skt Annae is on a quiet street in a good area near Nyhavn, so that would be a good possibility.
We stayed at Hotel Phoenix which is only a couple of blocks from the Skt Annae. We would highly recommend Hotel Phoenix.
We were also in Copenhagen for 4 nights and that was a perfect amount of time. We loved Copenhagen!
Thanks very much. The Admiral is indeed undergoing renovation. We will look into your hotel. Meanwhile, we’ve discovered most hotels offer breaks for two or more nights. As is recommended by RS books, we contact the hotels directly. Occasionally they will make a special offer for two or more nights - we just have to ask. Further, we don’t book through online agencies - we learned that third party bookings are often placed in the hotel’s worst room!
We visit Copenhagen often to visit our daughter and typically stay in Airbnbs. But we have stayed twice at Hotel Skt. Annæ and highly recommend it. It is on pretty side street with a nice sidewalk seating area out front. And the breakfast is quite good. We have not stayed at the Admiral but from the outside it looks appealing.
