Considering taking the overnight ferry from Copenhagen to Oslo. Any recommendations or comments pro or con would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, JimS.
We took this ferry in July, it was great. Meet and talked with many Norwegians, food was very good and the night club was a lot of fun. There is a big shopping mall on one of the decks and the scenery is beautiful for the last 2 hours before docking in Oslo. I would do it again.
We just did it a few weeks ago and had a good experience. We were a family of 3 and booked the Commodore Deluxe cabin with a balcony which was a nice treat. This also included the first class lounge with drinks and snacks, plus a private buffet breakfast that is less crowded, and free wifi. If you have good weather, it's especially nice to have the private balcony. In no way is the Deluxe cabin actually deluxe, the bathroom is plastic and basic, it's more like an economy room. If you are looking to save, the bunk rooms are a steal, lodging plus the transportation at a cheaper price than you could find a hotel in Copenhagen or Oslo. I get motion sickness and took motion medicine like I do for long haul flights. I had never been on a cruise before. I could feel the boat but it did not make me sick and I enjoyed the experience. Happy to answer any questions you have.
