Hello-
I'm looking for hotel recommendations for 2 nights in Copenhagen in mid-November. It's for 2 people, looking for modest prices, as we will not be in the room much! We want the best location for walking, shopping and Christmas markets. Thanks!
You'll probably get more, and more-useful, responses if you tell us what "modest prices" means to you in euros per night.
Oops--wrong currency. Should have said "kroner". Haven't been to Denmark since 1972.
And the chances might be even better if you told us in kroner per night.
I am looking more for.....affordable and a good walkable area of Copenhagen. Will be coming from the airport via train. I don't what affordable means in Copenhagen.....close to $100 US, if possible. We don't need any frills, as we'll be out and about int he city all day. I'm looking for suggestions.
We stayed at Copenhagen Strand this summer and enjoyed it. We walked from the train station and walked everywhere.
Hmmm. 100 USD is about 679 DKK.
I think you should try Booking.com (or Hotels.com or any other search engine) to see what you can get. I find 10 options in central Copenhagen, most of them are hostels.
If you want more luxury than that, I think you must move out from the centre (and commute in) or spend more money, but only you can find the right balance.
As they say: Price, Quality, Location; Pick two!
Yes, I did what l.p. Enersen suggested and typed a couple of dates into booking.com and then sorted by price. Some of the hostels have private rooms in your budget, I would choose one other than Generstor. I stayed there and didn't love it 100% (by comparison, I have stayed in a single room in the Generator in Stockholm twice, including right now).
Has anyone stayed at Wake Up Copenhagen? If so, which is the best central and walkable location? There are 3 Wake Up Copenhagen locations: Bernstorffsgade, Borgergade, or Carston Niebuhrs Gade. This runs about $150/night
A nice hotel:

I stayed at the Wake Up Borgergade in 2022. It's a pretty small room for two, but the location was great and the breakfast (at a reasonable extra charge) was solid. I'd stay again, although I'd prefer a larger room.
