Hi everyone, has anyone done the canals by renting your own boat? Could you let me know if it seems safe and if you’ve done it and enjoyed it?.

As I mentioned in another post (https://community.ricksteves.com/travel-forum/denmark/canal-tours-in-copenhagen-68f791ef-dba9-418a-affd-b8bc09938516) I have tried it some years ago and enjoyed it.
I felt safe, but about the same time two US students were killed by a jet ski driver, who were later arrested and punished. I don't remember the details. I think they added a barrier to prevent jet skis in the harbour - it was always illegal. I'm sure GoBoat has the details.
