In late May, l'll need to book an express train from Copenhagen to Stockholm central.
I've looked at DB and found the route times, choices....
What's the best most convenient train ticket booking and payment website?
I've had problems in the past when booking intercounry trips with some of the 3rd party ticket sites.
I don' t need a Rail package - just this trip.

Avoiding 3rd party ticket sites is definitely the right call. There are two operators on that route: SJ (the Swedish state railways) and Snälltåget (small private Swedish train company). I suggest you book directly from the relevant operator.

SJ has express trains from Malmö so you need to take Öresundståg from Copenhagen to catch them. You can get the whole trip on one ticket from SJ. "Köpenhamn H" is the main station in Copenhagen.
Snälltåget has one direct train per day in the afternoon. It's not express but a classic train, about 30 min slower than SJ. Avoid the Snälltåget morning connection, it arrives from Germany and can be late, I've read elsewhere that they offer a coach from Malmö in that case. Since Snälltåget has fewer departures they also have less backups in general in case of problems.
Best option is to book with the selected operator on their website (or app).
