Best way to get to Samsoe Island from Copenhagen (for a long day trip)

When we visit next month, we would like to visit Samsoe Island while we are staying in Copenhagen. We typically take trains, but it appears there isn't one at all from Copenhagen to Kalundborg, where we can take the ferry to Samsoe Island. Please give us advice on how to manage it. It appears we will need to rent a car and drive from Copenhagen to Kalundborg. Thank you so much!

https://www.publictransport.dk/journey-planner gives me two options from Copenhagen Central Station ("København H"): Either a direct train to Kalundborg station or a (faster) train to Slagelse and then a bus to Kalundborg - but you might want to have a car when you are on Samsø.

However you get there I recommend https://www.visitsamsoe.dk/en/oplevelser/samsoe-labyrinten/. The worlds largest labyrinth/maze - or at least it was until The Gilleleje Labyrinth opened. I'm not quite sure which one is larger.

Thank you, L.P.--we actually are going there because we learned about the labyrinth! We are hoping to rent bikes there so get around. Do you think the island is too big for biking between villages?

L.P, another question, on the Journey Planner website (thanks for telling me about it, for some reason when I was searching for how to get from Copenhagen to Kalundborg, my previous route search didn't show a train!), it appears to only have afternoon trains to Kalundborg. We would like to go early morning and return in the evening. If you have time, will you please tell me if I am reading the Journey Planner website incorrectly? Thank you so much!

Bikes: Depends on how athletic you are. Google Maps says it's 20 km / 59 minutes by bike. That's is too long for me, but might be fine for you. We always take our car when we visit Samsø.

Train / bus: I see train-bus combination from about 04:47. Be aware that if you search on "Depart now" it will only show you departures later than "Now". Change to "Departure time" and choose a day when you are there and early morning. Or if you have chosen a ferry, choose "Arrival time".

I had some trouble with JourneyPlanner, but https://www.rejseplanen.dk/webapp/?language=en_EN gave me better answers. I think rejseplanen is better, but the translation is not as good as JournyPlanner :-(

When you are actually in Dnmark I suggest you use the Rejseplanen app.

Thank you so much for the help. A one hour bike ride sounds pretty intense! We might need to do a taxi to the labyrinth and then do biking just for the shorter routes between villages. Any insights on a village that would be special to visit? We must get on the ferry at 4:37pm, because we then have a train ride back to Copenhagen. A very long day trip!
