Have been on the website suggested in other posts, the Swedish rail site, to buy tickets from Copenhagen to Stockholm. It says no trains are available in July. Is this actually true, do they fill up this quickly, or are they not yet issuing tickets? The Eurail site suggests they will not be available until April, about three months before we wish to travel. I would hate, however, to leave it another month only to discover we should have believed the first website and bought plane or ferry tickets instead. Help, please?
They are just not available yet, according to the SJ.se website, they will be available in mid march, so should be any day now.
You can get an idea of the schedule by going to the
DB Bahn website and searching for your dates and times. I did a test for 3 July and there were lots of options each taking about 6 hours with 1 or 2 changes.
Lo, there is no need to go via the bahn site, the times are already listed on www.sj.se, the swedish railways site, the tickets are just not available yet. I did a dummy search and got the message that there will be track work just south of Stockholm Central, so you will have to get off at Stockholm South and change to local trains there, depending on where exactly you are going in Stockholm
Thank you! I couldn’t figure out from the site if they were sold out, or not being sold yet. Appreciate the help clarifying this.
