Andersen Hotel Copenhagen

Has anyone stayed at the Andersen Hotel in Copenhagen. It is near the train station and has pretty good reviews on trip advisor.
Thanks,

Tom

We stayed near the train station and did not like the area.

Suki, what didn't you like about that area? Did you stay at the Andersen Hotel? Where do you like to stay instead in Copenhagen?

Tom: we stayed across the street from the Andersen hotel. Similar to Suki, we were not particularly impressed with the area. Primarily it was a bit seedy and late at night there were a few unsavory characters making noise and being a nuisance. But, having said that, we had no specific problems. Unless you are out and about late at night, you shouldn’t have any issues.

We would stay closer to the Nyhaven area next time. We stayed at a Radisson Hotel. Very near Tivoli and train station. A mistake.

Hi Tom, I can't believe this is one of the first posts when I just started planning our trip to Copenhagen. We booked this hotel for this upcoming September. The reviews on TripAdvisor were very high, the price was really good, and it had all the amenities we were looking for. Seedy doesn't scare us since seedy in Europe is usually nothing compared to US seedy. LOL. The negative reviews I did find were complaining about room size. And we booked a bigger room. So I think it's going to work just fine for us!

I have planned to stay in another hotel (in June this year), Good Morning City Copenhagen Star (mentioned in Rick Steves book) in the same area. The general comment about the area seems to be to keep an eye for unsavory elements late at night but the location and price are very attractive.
