Would anyone recommend going to Alborg? My great grandfather was from there and was wondering if it was worth the time or not or just go straight to Oslo. I will be coming from Copenhengen.

That is a tough question. If it was my ggrandfather, I would do it. I would want to see this town no matter how small or unimportant. But that is because I love history.

Aalborg is great! (You aren't a Thomsen or a Nielsen by any chance, are you?)

I haven't been in quite a few years, but have excellent memories, and have read that they've spiffed up their waterfront and added some great modern museums and exhibition spaces. And it's a college town, so there's always something going on, and a nice energetic vibe.
