Ærøskøbing Ferry Parking

Hello! We are doing a short trip to Denmark and will be taking the ferry from Svendborg to Ærøskøbing. Hoping to park in Svendborg and not take the car onto the island. Is anyone aware of parking areas in Svendborg that would work with this plan?

There are parking available near the ferry port, but assume that you have to pay for it. Public parking is usually free on Sundays and public holidays.
