Aeroskobing - bike rental

Hello-
After reading RS guidebook, I have a few questions about renting bikes in Aeroskobing:

  • Where is the best place to rent bikes in this city. Rick Steves gives a couple of places but advises to go the day before to reserve bikes for the next morning. I won’t have that luxury as my family will be getting into Aeroskobing later at night . What should I do to make sure I have 4 adult bikes available the morning of June 16?
  • Are electric bikes available anywhere in Aeroskobing?

Hi,

I don’t have the guidebook, so I don’t know which places are recommended. If I were you, I’d look the places up online and check for a phone number or email address, that you can contact to make a reservation. You can also do a quick online search on ‘Bicycle rental Ærøskøbing’ or even try doing it in Danish (Cykeludlejning = Bicycle rental). When I tried that, I even found a place in Ærøskøbing that had an online reservation form.

A few keywords to help your search, if you try to search in Danish (supplement with Google translate):
Cykel = Bicycle
Elcykel = Electric bicycle
Udlejning = Rental
Leje = Rent

Do you happen to have the link to the bike rental place in Aeroskobing you found on Google ? I only found the Andelen guest house but it did not have the reservation form you spoke of.

Any help is appreciated!!!

Hi,

The one I was referring to is Ærø Tours. I haven't used them myself, I just stumbled across their website.

Looks like their form is only available in Danish, but it's easy to understand with a little help from Google Translate https://www.aeroetours.dk/lejencykel
