We are visiting Copenhagen for 4 days and thinking of visiting Aero. What feedback can you give me? and should we get a guide?
Aero is lovely. I went there for an overnight and enjoyed it.
But it's not close or easy to get to (2 trains and a ferry), so whether you should take the time to go there depends on time of year (I was there in May and it was pretty quiet; a lot of shops and restaurants had not yet opened for the season), amount of time you have for other things, what you like to do with your time, and where you are going next.
Ærø is 4 hours travel from Copenhagen, so not suitable as a day trip. If you want a similar experience of a quaint fishing village, go no further than Dragør 45 min by bus from Copenhagen. Thank you for that info
We spent 2 nights there and truly enjoyed it! Beautiful island, lovely people ,great village!
Thanks for the post. We are heading to Copenhagen at the end of this month and was thinking the same thing. We will be there a week though.
Will things start to open the last week of May or is the other fishing island the best bet? We are really excited to see the countryside.
