Aero accommodation

Pension Vestergarde is under new ownership. This is the one Rick Steves featured on his (now quite old) video. Any comments from someone who has stayed there this spring or summer?

Actually, we were there on the day you wrote this post. It's one of the nicest places we've ever stayed. The new owner is great and so are her breakfasts, especially the skyr. The room was beautiful and very comfortable. We had the bathroom across the hall, and it was bigger than the room we had just stayed in at the Cabinn in Aarhus! Beware of creaky floors if you're not sleeping on the top floor, as the house was built in 1784. The back garden is massive, and a real treat to sit in on a nice day. Definitely a great place to stay.

Oooooh this sounds so nice. I just last night watched that episode (within the Monday Night Travel episode that discussed it) and am so happy to hear that you stayed there recently and that it remains an excellent choice ! Thank you for your response.

Thanks Kerri,

I read this enroute and was encouraged that we had made the right choice.
Now we are home and I concur with you 100%.
Pension Verstergarde 44 as it's now called was absolutely perfect! The new owners have done a lot of updating, (mainly painting, new linens, breakfast room updates, etc). The rooms are fresh and inviting. There are really lovely extra touches and the lady who is in charge of the breakfast, etc clearly knows what she is doing. The breakfast was beautifully prepared and presented, she prepared fresh tea for us in the afternoon to enjoy in the shady garden. Everything was perfect. Aero is such a lovely "holiday from your holiday". Rent bikes, relax, enjoy.
