We are a Portland, OR family planning holidays in Copenhagen/Stockholm with a stopover in Amsterdam, Frankfurt, or Reykjavik on the way to or from. I would love some advice on where to stay (anyone done a home swap?) and some great activities with a son in his early teens. Thanks!

In Copenhagen, I'd recommend the National Museum: http://en.natmus.dk/museums/the-national-museum-of-denmark/

I would recommend the Viking Ship Museum in Roskilde, which is about a 20 minute train ride from Copenhagen.
