Aarhus-Sleeping where the action is!

I have a quick solo trip to Aarhus - 2 nights, May 1 -3. I'd like to make the most of the time by sleeping in the most active area of the city, everything in walking distance, pedestrian friendly. I appreciate your recommendations.

Somewhere in the centre (Midtbyen) seems like a good idea. Central Århus is pretty compact so don't worry too much about finding the perfect location. But Scandic Århus city could be a good idea, walking distance to the railway station and close to most things you need (I think).

As Badger said, Aarhus is pretty compact, so it is easy to walk everywhere. The "action" is primarily on "Åboulevarden" between "Immervad" and "Sankt Clemens bro".

I can also recommend https://aarhusstreetfood.com/en/ on "Ny Banegårdsgade 46".

If you want historic buildings, I can recommend https://www.dengamleby.dk/en/english/, where you can see buildings from 1864, 1927, 1974, and 2014

If you want art, go to https://www.aros.dk/en/

If you want an amusement park, go to "Tivoli Friheden" on "SKOVBRYNET 5" (unfortunately they don't have information in English - that I could find)

Thank you OP, Badger and I.P. Enersen!
Looks like I'm all set! Very excited - my first visit. Too bad it's so brief. Guess I'll need to return.
The Old City was on my list. It will probably take up most the day, but looks well worth it. The Aarhus Street Food link has amazing restaurants and food choices! I'll have a tough time deciding since I'll only have a few meals there. The Beer Bar, Outdoor Bar and Popsicle are must stops! So little time and so much to do, eat and drink!
Much appreciation!

I stayed at historic Hotel Royal and really enjoyed it. It’s right there and easy walking to everything. I liked the history of the building and my room was actually a very good size for a decent price. Be sure to go to the rooftop bar of the Salling Department Store for great views of town. No cost to go up there. You don’t have to buy a drink unless you want to. I was there early Sept so not sure if it is open in May (the rooftop).

Hi Connie,
I already have my hotel booked, but will definitely see if the rooftop bar is open! And maybe stay here on my return trip.

Thank you!
