7 days with a toddler- Copenhagen

Hello all
My husband and I and our 3 year old daughter are visiting Denmark between Sept 21st-29th.

We think we should stay in Copenhagen and consider day trips as we'd really like a relaxed vacation without lugging around all the luggage that comes with a 3 year old. Any suggestions?

Also, is there a good kid friendly hotel/ BnB that you recommend. Its not a requirement, but I would love a stove and a fridge. Just asking for suggestions before i dive into AirBnB.

Lastly, any suggested areas with a toddler who still may nap in the afternoon ? (city center so we can quickly go in for a nap and get out back again?).

Thanks!

We recently stayed in an Airbnb with our two kids in the area around Nørreport Station (on Frederiksborggade). It is a great transportation base, with easy access to the Metro, S-trains, buses, and mainline trains. It is also very close to the Round Tower, Rosenborg Castle, Torvehallerne food market, Kultorvet public square, and a nice playground at Hauser Plads.

The downside is that it is a very active area on Friday and Saturday nights, and it was quite noisy outside during the weekend. If we stayed in the neighborhood again, I would try to stay on more of a side street.

If you're asking for day-trip suggestions, these are favorites within easy reach by train. Travel time is under an hour for most but 1.5 hours to Odense.

▲ Day trips north of Copenhagen: Frederiksborg Castle — the "Danish Versailles" — in Hillerød, the Louisiana Art Museum in Humlebæk, and Kronborg Castle in Helsingør.

▲ Roskilde: Former capital, just west of Copenhagen, with Viking Ship Museum and Royal Cathedral.

▲ Odense: Busy town with the Hans Christian Andersen Hus, a railway museum, and the nearby Funen Village open-air folk museum.

I think you could look further away from the center if you keep close to a Metro Station. It will probably be quieter, cheaper, better access to green areas. It will still be very quick to get into the center - less than 20 minutes from anywhere to Kongens Nytorv or Nørreport.
