Darren, did you stay at the Axel Guldsmeden Hotel? I did when I was there in 2022, and disliked it so much. They completely filled the room with knick knack items that got in my way everyone I needed to move or do something. Every surface was covered with "bohemian" crap; even the towel ladder had beads and shells hanging from it, so it made it difficult to remove a towel from it. I finally removed them and put them in the wardrobe.

There was a ginormous ugly lamp on the only desk/table in the room, so I had to move it back into a corner someplace so I had room for my stuff. It was absolutely ridiculous and not very attractive, imo. I'm all for a bohemian look but not at the expense of my comfort.

Hopefully the hotel bar was better. 😊

I did love Tivoli, though. That would rank first, and the wonderful pastry shop there (Cakenhagen) would be second.

We did stay there, and we really liked it. Great location near the station, cool vibe, excellent bar downstairs. But I can see how it would be one of those love/hate things. The decor is kitschy.
