Vintage Fiat Tours in Florence

Hi friends. Has anyone ever taken the vintage Fiat 500 Tour in Florence by the Fiat 500 Touring Club? There are mixed reviews on Tripadvisor, though 90% are positive. I have read the Terms and Conditions and they certainly are a bit frightening! This may be typical for car "rentals", something I have not done often. How was the double clutching? Is it hard to learn? Thanks for any feedback. Ciao!

It is not difficult, but it IS tricky. You should practice on a manual transmission car in the US before you try it on one of the Vintage Fiat 500s. If you have driven manual transmissions, it is just an added step to take to prevent that awful grinding sound from the gearbox. In plain terms, you are manually matching the speed of the engine with the speed of the gear wheels in the transmission. With synchromesh, it is not usually done, although I sometimes do it when I am downshifting in my sports car and want to more smoothly transition into the lower gear.

We are doing the Vespa tour. Maybe that is an option as well??? Looks like fun so we will see.
