Is it possible to do both in one day? I have booked Versailles for a 9:30 entry and was advised that 3 hours was all that was needed. If I do this and leave Versailles at say 12:30/1 pm what is the best /quickest way to get to Giverney?
Trainline.com says you can take the train to Vernon in about an hour, changing at Mantes-la-Jolie. I question whether 3 hours is enough time at Versailles, but I've never had the least interest in visiting it, so I'm not the one to ask.
Technically possible, yes. But there's no way you will see all of the Palace, gardens, Grand and Petit Trianons and le Hameau, AND get to the train station before 12:30/1:00. Then you have a train trip, most likely with a connection, and taking anywhere from 1 to 2 hours. Then a taxi or shuttle from Vernon to the Gardens entrance. The gardens close at 6:00 pm.
