Transportation From Liverpool - Go to Stratford Upon Avon or Warwick?

We are travelling by train through England in spring 2020. We are going to be visiting Stratford Upon Avon and hopefully Warwick (to see the castle there). After this, we are going to Bath. Question is, is it better to stay in Stratford Upon Avon or Warwick? It seems that Liverpool to Warwick will be faster by train. What has the best transportation options?
Thank you.

Warwick is on the Chiltern main line between Birmingham Snow Hill and London Marylebone, and is also easy to get to by Cross Country train and West Midlands train.

Stratford-upon-Avon is at the end of a branch line from Birmingham Snow Hill/Moor Street, and the end of a spur off the line from Marylebone and Warwick.

Warwick is more convenient by train.

That said, it would depend on which hotel you are staying in. Buses around Stratford-upon-Avon are a little more plentiful so it all depends.

Thanks. After some further research, there are more options for places to stay in Stratford-Upon-Avon vs Warwick (that are close to the train station).

Going from Stratford-Upon-Avon to Bath will require a few more transfers. However, we will be staying there for a few more days, then straight to London!

Stratford-upon-Avon has quite a lot to do, too. I expect you have read about about the river and things to do on and around it, the school that Shakespeare used to attend, his church, the various Shakespeare associated buildings around; you are on the edge of the Cotswolds, good shopping, the theatres, plenty to see and do.

When you are in Warwick in addition to the castle there is Lord Leycester Hospital (not a hospital the way we think of it), St Mary's church with fabulous views from the top (not bad inside either) and a great ring of bells, the antique shops, the canal and plenty to do.

You won't get bored in either.

I've just noticed that this question is posted in the "Day Tours in Europe" Forum which doesn't get a lot of traffic.

Your questions about England may get more noticed in the "England" Q&A Forum which gets a huge amount of traffic.
