We will be on a Mediterranean cruise stopping in Istanbul in September 2014. We are looking for recommendations of tour companies or independent guides to take us around Istanbul. We want to stay away from the crowds and see more of the life in Turkey.

Rick's book on Mediterranean Cruise Ports suggests www.srmtravel.com, which is the same company that leads our brand of Turkey tours, and which employs many experienced guides. He lists several other individuals as well, such as Nilufer Iris ([email protected]). Expect to pay about 200 TL for a half-day or 300 TL for a full day.
