Great guide in the Douro Valley!

We just returned from a 10-day stay in Porto, where we hired an amazing guide, named Daniel Ferreira, to take us through the Douro Valley (easily the highlight of our trip).

Daniel is a knowledgeable, engaging, intelligent young man, with a genuine passion for the beauty, history, and significance of his Douro Valley homeland. Although we hadn't met him prior to the tour (though we did communicate via email) Daniel immediately treated us like friends, not tourists. He tailored a perfect day for us, which included personal roundtrip transportation from/to our hotel in Porto, tasty meals (lunch and dinner), breathtaking photo ops, two local quintas, delicious wine tastings, and a leisurely one-hour river cruise... plus an abundance of laughter and fellowship.

i also had the pleasure of going on a day trip to the Douro valley with Daniel. He organized the perfect day for my family on a private tour. He was a wonderful guide - we absolutely loved his passion for his homeland, the scenery, and the food and wine. We enjoyed the small winery we visited as well as the amazing lunch spot he suggested for us. We loved the boat ride from Pinhao as well. He picked us up in Porto and made the day trip so easy and fun. I highly recommend spending the day with Daniel! He will work with you to tailor the day to your preferences and makes the whole process stress free.

The highlight of our 12 day Portugal trip was Daniel Ferreira. We thank both Sgt.Pepper and lmskimshopping for mentioning Daniel on this forum. Working along with Daniel to create the perfect Douro Valley day tour was part of this amazing experience. Daniel's professionalism surpasses anything we have ever experienced. He is communicative, caring, extremely knowledgeable, straightforward in his approach to connecting with clients, and his love of this region where he grew up, is why sharing time with him is so very special. He cares deeply about providing an experience that is individualistic to each client. Daniel went above and beyond in advance to make sure each place we visited together would be the best choice for the experience we were seeking. He is a joy to spend the day with, and it felt as if we had already known each other before we had finally met in person. We cannot say enough about Daniel's integrity and the ease of planning something unique and special- we always felt comfortable discussing any concerns and asking any questions, before, during, and after the tour. Daniel is a beautiful young gentleman, genuine and kind. His love of what he does exudes from him when he shares his knowledge. We truly admire Daniel, his curiosity, and how hard he works to create the perfect curated experiences. Our day was truly memorable, full of laughter, special photos, and wonderful companionship- Daniel offered us to alternate sitting up front with him in his comfortable 7 seater van, which made us feel like family from the start.
