Sorry- I know that Mexico City is not in Europe, but I'm finding it difficult to plan a trip without this group! We would like to take a small group or private tour of Teotihuacán. For a party of six, Context Travel wants close to $1900 for a day trip which is just way too much. Would like a quality tour. Any other tour guide suggestions? BTW, we are staying in an AirBnB so I do not have a hotel concierge to ask. Thank you!

I always book tours through the hotel when I get there as it is way cheaper than some company based in the USA.

Many hotels have a tour company they work with. I will share my experience for comparison of a much lower end alternative. The one I did in 2023 had about 8 people in a van and, if I remember correctly, cost under $50 per person. It also stopped at the Basilica of our Lady of Guadalupe and at a place to taste tequila. I think this was a pretty typical price and itinerary. There was a stop at a restaurant for luch which we paid for separately. It wasn't much of an informative tour -- mainly transportation and entrance fees. I found it adequate for my needs; I had a guide book that provided information about what we were seeing at Teotihucan.

I suggest that you take a look at the Things to do menu on Trip Advisor, which has a number of day tour providers listed who lead trips out to the pyramids. We've generally found their reviews to be reliable for sorting thru the various options.

Hi, I just returned from a spending a week in CDMX and had a couple of great tours with our guide, Yordi. His English was excellent! We used Mexico A Pie tours while in CDMX so I looked at what a private tour costs and it's $1800. So your price seems to be inline with the going rate. I will say we were pretty happy with our tours so I don't think you can go wrong.
Just as an FYI-Mexico is not the cheap place it used to be. Prices in CDMX and other tourist destinations have skyrocketed since the pandemic when more people traveled there because of the loose restrictions. It's still cheaper though than the comparable rate in the US. Enjoy Mexico. We had a great time.
