We want to take a day trip from Lucerne to Lauterbrunnen or? We are open to suggestions. We thought to take the Golden Express. Is it worth it to book the panoramic seats in the front of the train or just panoramic seats? This will be our only trip to Switzerland and want to get the most out of it. Thanks for your help.

The panoramic seats in the front of the train aren't available on the Luzern-Interlaken leg of the Golden Pass route. The panoramic cars with the large side windows are nice with more comfortable seating, but the regular second-class cars aren't a hardship;)

You can normally see fine out your own side of the train, but the extra, upper window on the panorama car makes it easier to see out the opposite side, too; see photo. Reservations are optional for this panorama car/route and trains depart hourly.
