Rome Catacomb Tour--Which Tour/Provider is Better and Why?

Only went to the Capuchin Crypt. Pretty easy to do on your own, very small, and when we were there a few years ago in February it was empty.

San Clemente is amazing with excavations beneath the church going back to beginning days of Christianity. Highly recommend a visit to church and it’s lower levels of antiquities.
We also visited the Catacomb of San Sebastián.
One catacomb was enough.

It is my understanding that you actual use a local tour guide for the catacombs. We used Angel Tours for the Vatican and thought they were excellent so assume they would do a good job with the catacombs. We did the Appian Way on our own and toured Basilica San Clemente with the local guide. You have to have a guide for either catacomb. It is best if you can do it on Sunday since traffic is heavily restricted on that day.

We did a tour at the Catacombs of Priscilla outside the city wall. We took an Uber there from our Airbnb near the Pantheon, and then walked back visiting other sites and churches along the way as we came across them. We booked an English speaking tour in advance. the first they had that day, and my husband and I were the only two in the group. We very much enjoyed that tour. I took a tour with Walks of Italy that included Capuchin and Priscilla. As mentioned, Capuchin is very easy to do on your own.
