Last summer my daughter and I did the "Chocolate, wine, villages, monuments" all-day tour with Provence Panorama; we were picked up before 9 at our lodging in Avignon and spent more than 8 hours with our guide Anne. We saw an amazing number of sights which we could never have managed on our own without a car [St Remy, Glanum, Les Baux, Pont du Gard, Orange, Chateauneuf du Pape, and the chocolate and wine tasting at the end]. She drove us around [we were the only ones on this particular tour] and provided lots of interesting background on the way; when we got to the sights she handed us our tickets and we went in on our own. The company, Provence Panorama, has a number of tours, both full-day and half-day; we only did the one so maybe I can't give a blanket recommendation, but our experience was truly excellent.
