Private scotch distillery tour guides for our trip to Scotland

Does anyone have any good recommendations for private tours for the distilleries? My husband and I are traveling in July and have checked with two guides already who are booked. We'd love to have someone drive us and take us to a few distilleries like Oban. We will be staying in Edinburgh. If you have anyone that you think did a fantastic job please let us know!

Bruce Telford (or his son Keith).
Brucesscotlandtours.com (yes that’s two s’s in a row as in Bruce’s Scotland Tours without any punctuation or spaces)

We’ve done 4 tours with Bruce over the last eight years. Everything from 2days in Speyside to an 18 day tour through Ireland and Scotland visiting Jameson’s and Bushmill’s in Ireland/northern Ireland and 9 distilleries in Scotland.

You’ll see that every review on TripAdvisor is 5 stars.

Would suggest you move fast, July may already be booked. You can tell him Miriam sent you.

Another thing to know is that once you’ve been on one tour, you really only need to do tastings-the basic chemistry of the distillery process is the same everywhere. At Oban you can go upstairs and sit at the bar to do tastings. (In Oban the best thing may actually be lunch on the dock-some of the freshest seafood you’ll ever eat!) Dalwhinnie does whisky and chocolate paired tastings (I think you had a choice of 2,4 or6 and you can buy both the whisky and the matching chocolate!). Glenmorangie (which may be a little far for a day tour out of Edinburgh as it is above Inverness) allows you to choose up to 4 whiskies per person-pretty much anything they sell. My husband and I chose 8 between us. Tomatin also does tastings without tours. We found that the standard 25 milliliter pour is just enough for two sips without water and two sips with water so we could share.
