Apparently it was your first post, what was it a review of? It may have been deemed a promotion or advertisement.

Probably because you are a new poster. Send the Webmaster a private message - I did that once when I had a question about posting and received an answer very quickly. Or you can email the Webmaster at webmaster (at) ricksteves.com.

Agree with the previous posters. I've had a few problems with some of my posts and private messages, and the webmaster has been a joy to work with.

Did you perhaps link to content outside the RS website? Linking to something like a travel blog violates the rules of posting trip reports.

Especially if it's one's very first post.

First post from a brand new user + a link to some commercial entity = red flag. It may have been well-intentioned and completely above board, but a hit-and-run first post with link to an outside business matches the typical profile of spammers.

Thanks it was a first post. No links but an endorsement. I did contact the webmaster.

The endorsement was likely the issue, especially if it was an endorsement of one of several individuals the forums see WAY too many endorsements of already from first-time, one-time posters. Doesn't do much for the credibility of these individuals, I'm afraid.
