Muich day tours

I'll be in meetings all day in Munich and my husband will be on his own. Has anyone suggestions about day tours or tour guides in Munich? Travel staff, do you have colleagues there who do tours around the city or environs?

There are several companies that do walking tours, on several different themes (general introduction, Third Reich, etc). I took a Third Reich walk and got a lot out of it. The Nazi party was founded in Munich, and the building where Hitler joined the party still stands, for instance, but like many Nazi sights, it's not marked, at least partly for fear of inspiring neo-Nazi pilgrimages. They also do bike tours. Rick's book lists some companies (I don't remember the one I used).

"Munich Walk" and Radius Tours are two walking tour companies that Rick recommends; no need to reserve, just show up in front of their respective locations (Tourist Info office or Radius train station office) at the specified times.

There's lots to see in Munich without a guide, including the BMW factory tour (with reservation), transportation or art museums. Rick also has a self-guided Munich Audio Tour available, with map you can print at home, but I'd say that you will pretty naturally tend to hit all those same spots without sticking too religiously to the marked path.
