My husband and I plan to drive the Golden Circle route this August in Iceland. Does anyone have a suggestion about which direction to travel--start at Gullfoss or Thingvellir National Park? We know this is very popular with tourists, and we hope to either start extra early or later in the morning, depending on advice about direction and tour bus timing. Thank you!

The tour came with the Iceair Package I bought so we were on a bus. Our tour started with Thingvellir.

Either direction is great. The bus tours tend to go counter clockwise around the island so we drove the opposite way, clockwise, in order not to get behind them.
