Hello, We are two couples planning our first MyWay Alpine tour at the end of May. Were wondering how much needs to be done by us in terms of reservations or tickets for Salzburg Mozart dinner concerts, Hallstatt tours, cooking classes, Bob’s tours, etc before we go, and how much of those type things does our Tour Manager assist us with once we’re there? Do we need advance reservations /tickets for other towns we’ll be visiting?
Any tips for this MyWay tour in May would be welcome! Thank you!
If you don’t get many responses you may want to post in the Rick Steves Tours section. We are going to Paris in April and got answers to many of the same questions.
Hi:
We took this tour in 2022. I don't think the Tour Manager will be assisting with reservations like you mention above. Anything that you really want to do or see, you should probably reserve before you go in case it's booked up/sold out.
Our tour manager helped obtain a group reservation for the museum in Bolzano to see Otzi the Iceman & a group reservation for the Gondola in Chamonix.
We reserved a Mozart concert in Salzburg a few months before the tour. We chose not to go to Neuschwanstein Castle, but you most likely will want to reserve those tickets ahead of time.
We received guidance from the tour manager regarding the tickets we needed to buy for the various gondolas & transportation options for the things we wanted to see.
I can't think of any other things I reserved ahead of time, except for a chocolate tour in Geneva, where we chose to end our trip.
Happy Planning!
