Just want to put in a good word for Peter Carney who leads a fascinating all-day tour of Hadrian’s Wall in northern England. Peter is a retired high school history teacher and he is a fount of knowledge when it comes to the history of the Roman Empire. Peter picked us up at the Haltwhistle train station and spent the next eight hours giving us a very thorough exposure to the background, the building and the demise of this far northern region of the Roman Empire. Fascinating day! I highly recommend!
Thank you for sharing.
Another fan of Peter here. He took me on a similar day-trip from Haltwhistle in 2016. I learned a lot and would highly recommend him to anyone.
Another member of the Peter Carney fan club here. He will ask you what your interests and priorities are and customize his tour to meet your needs. I always recommend him here on the forum when someone says they are going to Hadrian’s Wall. Here is the link to his webpage
