I booked a private guided tour with Artviva in Florence, recommended in Rick Steves Italy book. There were four of us adults. We were only going to be in Florence for 3.5 days so thought it best to pay the extra money for a private tour ($900) for 4 hours. We were all glad we did as Florence was extremely crowded as it was a national holiday weekend so the city was especially crazy crowded. Our guide, Francesco was amazing, taking us to the key sites in the Uffizi Gallery and to see the David at the Academia (museum tickets were included). He was extremely knowledgeable about the history of Florence and the art seen. He was very friendly and interactive with us. A great guide we would highly recommend.
