French Riviera Day Trip with Boba

We had a group of 14 who had just finished a Rhone River cruise with Viking and were ready to relax and enjoy the beautiful French Riviera. I was referred to Boba ( www.yourguideboba.com) by Charlotte Hackett, owner of Above and Beyond Travel. I contacted Boba through email and she very promply responded to set up our itinerary based on my input. Boba made arrangements for a very comfortable mini bus and she met us at our hotel to start our full day tour. We traveled along the coastline stopping to take in the beautiful scenery and to hear stories of the "rich and famous". Our tour including a walking tour of the charming hill top village of Eze, then on to Monte Carlo with a walking tour of the Casino and the city, and finally to the fortress town of St. Paul. Boba has a tremendous knowledge of history, architechture, art, and cinema which greatly enhanced the walking tours at each destination. She is also a great story teller which made the information very intersting and fun to listen to. Boba was very flexible and we could make modifications to our trip as we desired. I felt that Boba was the best guide I had during the entire trip and learned more from her in one day that I did during 7 days of tours with Viking guides. Boba specializes in a variety of tours in the French Riviera, Provence, and Paris and I would highly recommend her to assist you in enjoying your time in those areas.

I would like to add to Jane's review of Boba's guide service. I had a very different and exciting experience with Boba. My husband and I, along with two other couples, were planning a trip to France and Italy. We each had a "wish list" of things we wanted to do or see on our vacation. My "wish" was to revisit the home where I spent the summer as a foreign exchange student 44 years ago. I had written to several personal guides in the Nice area and only received negative responses. Most only offered cookie cutter tours. I found Boba's web site and wrote to her. She responded immediately and said she had never had such a request and would love to help me with my wish. We talked via Skype the next day. I gave her all the information that I had on the family I stayed with and addresses. I kept in touch with my family for about 20 years, but did not have any current information. I was quite certain that the Mother and Father were probably deceased. Within the hour, I received an e-mail from Boba telling me that she had found my family. Mother had passed away a year ago, but Papa Louis was 96 years old, still living in the same apartment in Nice. (He's probably doing so well because he lives on the third floor with no lift.) The day we arrived in Nice, Boba met my husband and I at our hotel and we started on our adventure. We first went to the apartment and had a tearful reunion. I brought pictures from the summer I spent with them. My French is quite rusty, but Boba was able to translate for both of us. We then went to the summer house where I had stayed with them. I do not think we would have found it in Colomars if Papa had not been with us. He still owned the house and had a renter living there. I saw my bedroom, the dining room where we spent so many evenings laughing and the pool where I spent many days drinking up the sunshine during my stay. It was a dream come true. My husband was so thrilled to meet Louis and see the smiles on both of our faces. I can not thank Boba enough for taking an interest in my request and making it happen.

The following day, she took our group on a full day tour similar to the one Jane described. I would agree totally with Jane on the quality day we experienced on the Rivera. We saw and did as much as was possible in one day. Our entire group loved every minute of our day with Boba. I highly recommend her as your guide.
