Excellent D-Day Beach tour guide

My wife and I along with my daughter, son-in-law and 4 grandkids hired Karine Poullard for an all day tour of the Normandy Beaches, towns, cemetery, museums, etc. in August 2018. Karine was fantastic and brings the story to life with anecdotes, photos, research and conversations she has had with D-Day participants over the years. She engaged the kids with colorful and relevant anecdotes; she worked overtime to ensure that we covered all the sights during a very busy tourist time in the area; we can't say enough good things about her as a tour guide. She has been a nationally certified tour guide for 28 years and lives right there in Normandy and her family lived through the war, unlike many of the other tour guides. We highly recommend her and could not have been more pleased to have her as our guide for that special day. Her email is karinepoullard@hotmail.fr

Thanks for this. Did you stay in Normandy or was it a day trip? We are heading to Paris for a week in the spring with 2 boys ages 11 and 14 and torn on whether to do a day trip to Normandy. Would very much like to, but it would be a long day.

We stayed in Normandy throughout the first week but people do make the trip from Paris to Normandy for the day. It would be a very long day but it can be done. Most of the guides meet you in Bayeux and you start the tour there. We spent 18 days in France and by far that tour and the Eiffel tower at night where the highlights of our trip.

Thanks. I think we'll save Normandy for another year and focus primarily on Paris this trip after all. Gives me incentive to get us back there.
