Dublin -Rural Pub Tour

Had a lot of fun on a pub tour this summer.. best of all it was RURAL pubs..so gets you out of the city. Smaller group( about 15 of us) and we visited six small local pubs.. tons of character and history in each one! Tour leader Shane was awesome, offering all sorts of juicy tibits of information and humor.

We took the all day into evening tour.. but they do offer a shorter three hour tour also.

This is not a "Booze Cruise" type tour.. we stopped and had time for one or two drinks in each place.. talked to locals( they all seemed to know Shane , and loved chatting with the group) the scenery was amazing around the pubs, and you can see the countryside without taking a big bus tour.. and of course theres no better way to visit a country pub and have a drink without driving a car( in which case you couldn't sample a beer or three right?!) We were taken to a few places that would have been hard to find on your own.. some of those country streets have no signs.. just winding through the landscape, with the lush green and low stone walls surrounding you.. loved it.

Anyways , we have been home a few months now and when we talk about our summer trip to Europe( with was a month long and we also visited two other countries) we still recall the pub tour as a highlight.

Pat, sounds like a lot of fun. Do you have a tour company name or contact info? Would love to do something like that if I get back to Ireland.
