Dublin Day Tours

Has anyone done the day trip out of Dublin to Glendalough/Wicklow with HILLTOP TREKS tour company? And would you recommend them? Also, the same questions for COLLINS DAY TOUR.
I like the fact that Hilltop Treks uses 16 seater vans.

I've used Collins Day Tour for this day trip, and it was great! We had a really good tour guide. We were on a big bus, but it was only about half full. This is the tour we took. The lunch stop was in Kilkenny. We researched the town in advance and were able to visit the castle there. We ate our lunch on the bus to maximize time.

To piggyback on this request from Carole…if we chose to see scenic areas and possibly quaint villages outside of Dublin…is a tour needed? We do prefer not to drive or rent cars. It seems public transportation is likely not the way to sightsee independently. Are Glendalough/Wicklow recommended? We have not been to Dublin. We enjoy cities but also hoping for the lovely green rolling countryside we picture in Ireland. Interested in these tour companies.

@all2alb - You don't need a tour to see villages or go on hikes with stunning views. I really like both Howth and Dalkey, which can easily be reached via commuter rail. For more information, check out this post from September. My reply is the 5th one, but other posters also provided some great suggestions.
