Dr. Pina Esposito - Naples Tour Guide

I just completed a half day Naples tour plus a tour of the Naples Historical Museum with Dr. Pina Esposito. It was an excellent choice on my part. I started corresponding with Pina in August 2019 after I book my flight. Pina aswered very quickly and listed the tours that she offered. I chose the above tour and paid a deposit by Paypal. The day finally arrvied and Pina met me at my hotel (Piazza Bellini) at 9am and off we went. Pina is passionate when speaking about the history of Naples, Italy, Churches, Pompeii, the Neapolitan people and so much more. When I saw the Veiled Christ, it took my breath away and I am not a religious person. I would highly recommend Pina for any of her tours and I plan to contact her when I next visit Naples (hopefully in 2020).
Thank you again Pina!

You will do a nice and interesting walk in the old city: you'll focus your attention on the highlights of the district called "Spaccanapoli" that includes the Greco-Roman, Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque and Neoclassical areas and where one can find the most important churches, chapels and noble palaces, the historical cafeterias (where one can taste the most authentic Neapolitan pizza, the best "caffè espresso", the local
delicious pastries and gelato of our ancient gastronomic tradition), as well as the narrow alleys of the Greco-Roman city like the one of Nativity scenes' shops et cetera.
The guide can show you in this district for instance the interior of the world wide famous San Severo Chapel, a mysterious esoteric Neoclassical Chapel that belonged to Raimondo Di Sangro, Prince of San Severo (a genius of the 18th Century, inventor, scientist, alchemist, expert of esoterism and magic and, last but not least, Great Master of the Neapolitan lodge of free masons).
This chapel is also a unique example of Neapolitan Masonic Temple and houses an amazing marble statue, i.e. the Veiled Christ, whose marble drapery and technical perfection have been compared by many art historians with the Pietà by Michelangelo, and also many other stunning marble works as well as the genial and bizarre inventions of this Magician Prince.
While walking through the nice alleys and markets of Naples city the guide will give you also information about the Neapolitan mind set, typical way of living in the city, local traditions and similar themes.
This half day tour has the length of 4 hours about (including time for possible snack/coffee break).
The cost of this private tour for 1 person would be 280 Euro but I do you a DISCOUNT: you pay 239 Euro.
Included: private guide service. Not included: admissions, tip and anything not explicitly mentioned.

Are you interested in combining the Naples city tour with the tour of the amazing Naples National Archaeological Museum, that houses the treasures found in Pompeii, Herculaneum and the other ancient sites affected by the eruption of Mt. Vesuvius in 79AD?
In this gorgeous, that houses more than 20000 works (sic!), the guide will explain you the most famous artifacts (i.e. the highlights) found in Pompeii and Herculaneum buried by Mt. Vesuvius 79 AD such as frescoes (i.e. mural paintings), statues, domestic items made from blown glass, bronze, ivory, painted terracotta, semiprecious stones et cetera as well as silver and golden jewels, mosaics, "erotica" (in the famous Secret Cabinet!) and, last but not least, the most important among the huge monolithic marble statues dating back to the Roman Imperial Age and that belong to the so-called Farnese Collection.
The Naples city & Naples National Archaeological Museum day tour has the length of 6 hours (including time for possible lunch break).
The cost of the Naples city & Naples National Archaeological Museum private day tour for 1 person would be 420 Euro but also in this case I do you a nice DISCOUNT: you pay 329 Euro.
Included: private guide service. Not included: admissions, tip and anything not explicitly mentioned.

How much tip is expected on top of that 329 EUR? I've never hired a private tour guide before but assumed that a fairly high "set price" included everything.

I am not sure what a correct tip amount is? As far as I know, you tip everywhere, hotels, waiters, tour guides etc.
Basically, you get what you pay for in any instance, whether it a hotel a restaurant, tour guide, seat at the opera. I am sure you will find cheaper in any category. Dr. Esposito is the top in her field. When I toured Palermo, I hired author Jacqueline Alio and my money was well spent.
