Pina brought Pompeii and the ancient Romans to life. She is a kind, tireless, entertaining, and intelligent person, and if you can book her, I would highly recommend her. Pina tailored the tour to our interests on the fly, and I feel like we really got to know each other. My wife and I plan to book another tour with her as soon as we return to Italy!
Pina clearly loves her subject. Her explanations painted a complete picture of what it was like to be a Roman citizen living an ordinary life in Pompeii, as well as the devastating effects of the eruption. She also explained how Pompeii was excavated over a long period and shared personal anecdotes about visiting Pompeii over the years.
Her tour of the archaeological museum in Naples was equally fascinating and a fantastic companion to the tour of Pompeii. She lovingly explained why each mosaic—something I was not at all interested in before—was so incredible. I left the museum absolutely agreeing with her.
In addition to our incredible tour, Pina arranged a driver (Carmine, who was great) to take us and our luggage from the Amalfi Coast to each location, watch our bags, and drop us off at the train station when we were done. She also brought us to an amazing pizzeria!
