We are currently in Southern Spain. My husband did not want to rent a car this trip (we have driven before in Europe with no problems). A couple of places we were traveling to were not as easy by public transport, so we have used Daytrip.com for 3 private transfers this trip. They are very responsive to email, we asked to change our pick up time and they replied back within 10 minutes. Have been on time for our pick ups (door to door is so nice). Not having to drive, find parking, get gas, pay for parking has made this trip very stress free! The drivers also speak some English and you can even choose to stop at a town along the way, which we did in Filigrania on our way to Ronda. You might think private transfers are expensive, but I have been keeping track of all our expenses on the app TravelSpend and this trip is still less expensive than the Rick Steves tour in Andalucia. Plus, our trip is 15 days, not the 10 that RS does. Highly recommend them!
Interesting. This could come in handy, thanks!
Good to have further recommendations for them!
We have used them numerous times on our travels, and have always received excellent service.
Is this supposed to be Daytrip.com, no “s”? When there is an “s” included, the result is a service in Park City, UT.
Is this the service you used? https://daytrip.com/
I was going to ask the same thing. Daytrips with an 's' took me to a company in Utah with local drivers and offers.
Daytrip looks interesting, I'm also not interested in driving if I don't have to. I'm curious if it's something about Spain that has your husband not wanting to drive or is a general thing that he's tired of it while on vacation? We've been talking about only renting cars for a day at a time in places where we can get away with it because I'm tired of the added stress of unfamiliar places. While a car was necessary for our week in the Dordogne last Fall; and I don't regret it, there were times that I was too frustrated to enjoy myself. We've decided that in upcoming trips (still in the planning stages) from York to Bamburgh in England and in Normandy we're going to try and limit vehicle use and see what kind if plans we can put together for renting vehicles for only 1 or two days at a time.
Yes. We've used them in Italy and in Mexico and been very pleased with their service. I've recommended them here on a few threads.
It's great to have an option like that, especially with the optional stops. For instance, we used them to travel from Rome to Orvieto, with stops at Sacro Bosco and Civita di Banoregio. (That turned out to be one of our favourite days in Italy.)
We used Daytrip in 2022 to get from Salerno to FCO, with a stop at Montecassino. Our driver suggested a lunch break at a "truck stop" which turned out to be one of the best meals of our trip.
I wholeheartedly agree with all the positive comments.
Oops, yes, I have edited my post. Daytrip.com
No s.
I’m another forum member who has used the service multiple times over the last several years and been very satisfied. When I priced a transfer in Germany last year, though, the quote was well above what I was willing to pay.
Thanks for mentioning this. I have 2 trips this year that I’m not planning to rent a car so this potentially caould come in handy.
If you've used Uber before, can you compare/contrast the two?
I've used them 3 tines now. Very happy.
This is very helpful! Thanks, Tammy.
We just used our last transfer with Daytrip from Ronda to Malaga with a 1 hour stop in Sentenil de las Bodegas. The driver picked us up, on time as usual, in a black Tesla. My first time in that model. He spoke very good English. We definitely will use this service again!
@Lindy-it's sort of like Uber, but you can choose to stop in towns along the way to your destination. Plus, we arranged our transfers before the trip and so we like that part. Knowing when and what day you will be picked up. I had trouble once, in the states, with Uber. Could not get wi fi to get an Uber from the Santa Rosa airport and had to call friends to pick me up.
Thanks, Tammy. It's nice to have another option and one with extra services. I've added it to my apps.
For me, it's when you buy the stops along the way that the cost becomes much more reasonable.
Did you all use the app? If I have the right one, it only has 3 reviews and I wanted to make sure I am looking at the correct one. Or did you just use the website. (And maybe it makes no difference?)
Anyway, I appreciate the information. There are times when we are just looking for the easiest transfer, and the ability to add stops is wonderful.
no, i did it online
