A group of four took the full day American D-Day tour with Dale Booth in November of 2025.
This tour was the highlight of our three weeks in Europe. Dale has an encyclopedic knowledge of D-Day and during our nine hour tour we covered a lot of ground. By the way, Dale's van is very comfortable.
We visited all the important sites, but of particular interest was the church at Angoville au Plain, and the bocage, or hedgerow areas.
Dale has written a book about the heroic medics who used the small church as a field hospital treating wounded Americans and Germans. Dale's narrative transported us back to that time. Utterly fascinating. There are bloodstains on some pews to this day.
Dale also took us to visit hedgerows. It was easy to see what a great defensive position they afforded. In addition, Dale told us how and why the hedgerows were constructed in the first place. Hint: It involved the Vikings.
Our nine hour day flew by. If you have an interest in the history of D-Day, I urge you to employ the services of Dale and Debbie Booth. Five stars for sure.
