Bucharest day tours and restaurant recommendations

I'm posting here because I couldn't find a category other than this one that I thought would work.

We arrive in Bucharest on a Sunday afternoon this fall. On Monday we begin a four day tour with Covinnus Travel Ltd, arriving back in Bucharest on Thursday night. We have Friday and Saturday on our own before departing Bucharest for a river cruise.

I know of the major cultural sites to visit; however, we enjoy hidden gems and also local walking tours.

I found a company called Interesting Times Tours, but can't find any reviews or recommendations.

Also looking for restaurant recommendations.

Any help would be appreciated.

Start with your tour company Covinnus Travel Ltd is top notch. Have known the owner for many years.

In Bucharest if you want to be local for a few days, contact

She can show you all the sides of the city, day and evening. I have used her and will again and few others on RS have used her so look for reviews. All good. And she is a restaurant guru, so can probably help you with that too.

I was just in Bucharest this summer and it is truly a fantastic city. I'll leave out the major sites since you said you're set but I will add that Victory Blvd. is really awesome. We wandered plenty in the old town core but our hotel - the incredible Intercontinental - sits a little more down Victory Blvd towards the Museum of the Romanian Peasant - maybe halfway between the old town and the museum. That section of Victory Blvd is so fun at night. The Blvd is closed off to cars on the weekends and we would go out and stroll, eat, get gelato etc. It's worth a wander if you're staying somewhere else. We had some truly excellent gelato there - a different stand every day.
